Our Guiding Principles
Each child is unique and as such, deserves an education that will help them develop to their fullest potential.
The Eureka Day Home guiding principles are as follows:
Every child is unique
They deserve an education that helps you develop your full potential. The differences between children are richness and a source of learning. Our space is open to boys and girls with different abilities, beliefs and nationalities.
One's own individuality is nourished and grows with the individuality of the other
Constructive social interaction fosters more significant intellectual and emotional development.
Learning and intellectual development occur in an atmosphere of mutual respect, cooperation and freedom with responsibility
These values are at the same time principles, means and ends of our education.
Children have a natural motivation towards learning
They make it more meaningful when their experiences are personalized, challenging, and connected to their experiences, inside and outside of the day home.
Knowledge is for life and it is life itself
Children have the potential to become transformative agents of themselves and their environment.
The development of creativity and self-esteem is the pillar that prepares the child to face new challenges
All activities inside and outside the classroom lead towards these two objectives, and the artistic experience (musical and plastic) is fundamental in this sense.
Teachers have an active and clarifying role
They provide external conditions to promote continuous learning. They invite the child to direct interaction with the environment (experiential) and motivate reflection on events (construction of knowledge). In this way they maintain in the students the interest for learning and work.
Development of social and ecological awareness
Children learn from what they live: respect for life is formed as children interact, are surprised, investigate and commit to others and to nature. Students get involved in caring for the environment, participating in reuse, recycle and reduce projects.
Family participation in the training process is essential
The joint action of school and family has an enhancing effect on the intellectual, emotional and moral growth of the child.
